Mounting TKO500

Hey guys.
Tried to mock up the engine and transmission today on my mkll. Engine is a 351w mated to a tko500. So, the problem I have is that the transmission needs to go back more for my engine mounts to line up with the holes on the frame but as you can see from the picture, the transmission is hitting on the frame mounting location stopping it going back maybe an inch. Any solution to this other than getting the sawzaw out ?199832

My TKO 600 needed 3/4 inches of shims between the mount and the trans for driveshaft / sidepipe alignment, will that help?

I haven't measured but looks like i would need maybe to have to shim it a couple of inches higher to clear the mounting plate. Is that excessive ?
