You ever feel like you had already asked a question at some point, but you aren't able to find the thread with that question in it?

Anyhow, I've grown tired of the spark plug wires that came with the engine. The lengths were not suitable to route the cables properly, make them look good, and I've got one that keeps falling off the plug even with trying to adjust the end. Could I get some recommendations on wires? I need 135-degree boots, and I want them long enough that I can use something like a Morosso plug wire routing kit to clean up the look. Right now, they look like a bowl of spaghetti (similar to behind my dash, but I was able to hide that).

If I bought bulk wire and ends for both the distributor and the plugs, any ideas of how much wire would be needed? Oh, and it's a 302 with a stock distributor cap. I've been trying to find wire that has a gray cover, but there's not much out there. Size of wire, resistance, type of core would also help. Does anyone know of a manufacturer named Tons, and is their wire any good?

If there is anything else that I should be looking for let me know. I have no knowledge on this subject, as it is with most all other subjects!

Thanks

I've always been satisfied with stock Ford wire sets

I used these MSD wires that you can make your own length and adjust the angle of the boot. I did have to buy a crimper for it, but it gives you the most customization.

Thanks Rich. Not sure if what I have are stock Ford wires, but some of them are too short to be able to route them well.

Burchfield, I was looking at the MSD wires, just not sure based on the limited number of wire sets for Ford 302.

Stang Racer, I'm not sure I've run across those. I'll have to check them out.

Thanks guys

I've been pleased with Taylor wires. Assembled with the plug boots, you install the distributor ends. These sets allow custom lengths to suit your routing and looms.

Jim and Mike, thanks for the recommendations. I'll be checking all of the suggestions out over the weekend, and hopefully get a set ordered right away.
