Today I pulled the plug on the FFR roll bars. My kit was complete and shipped on Feb 21st. My roll bars have been on back order for 3 months. I had a nice call with FFR today. Seems they lost there chrome plater and have been digging out of a bad backlog. They told me they were recieving about 20 bars every two weeks. I was 25th in line for the Drivers side and 48th in line for the Passenger side. The mods I made to the upper trunk floor require me drilling both the inner roll bar mount holes ASAP. I'd rather not wait another 6 weeks. So I ordered a set from Mark at Breeze. Mike Bray has a good looking Breeze bar on his great looking MK4. A little shorter, a little fatter and a better rake! I'll be doing the same.
Happy trails.

The Breeze bars look so much better, in my opinion. The slight rake blends better with the lines on the car. You won't be disappointed.

Some learnings from installing the Breeze bar on my car.
The Breeze bar is 1.75" dia vs. 1.5" dia for the FFR bar. Because of this Mark supplies "couplers" or tubes to act as sleeves so the larger bar fits the tubes welded in the chassis.
You will want to grind the ID of the coupler tubes to that they slip over the tubes in the chassis easily.
Same for the OD of the coupler tube that fits the diagonal tube.
Tack weld the coupler tubes inside the main hoop, it will make your life easier.
90% chance you will need to tweak the main hoop to get it to slip over the chassis tubes. I had to spread mine some using a bottle jack.
Cut a 45 degree bevel on the top side of the end of the diagonal tube to provide some extra clearance when installing after the body is on. Hope this makes sense.
You will need to enlarge the openings in the body to allow for the larger tube size.
Mike Everson (Replicaparts) sells trim rings for the Breeze bar.

As Mike mentioned, I also had to spread the bottom of the Breeze roll bars a bit to get them to line up. I made a spreader out of some scrap 2x4 pine and a turnbuckle, but I used the turnbuckle to expand instead of tighten. This allowed for very fine grained adjustment. I also used a bit of gun oil on the tubes to get them to slide a bit easier.

What's the difference in height above the body line? (FFR ht. vs. Breeze ht.)
Sorry if this was noted somewhere and I missed it...

My Breeze bars measures 13" from the body to the top of the hoop.

I have two sitting side by side in the shop currently; Breeze is 2 1/4" lower.
