My question: Is there a way to run PTFE fuel lines when the in-tank fuel pump and the fuel filter have barbed fittings? I suppose the crux of the question is if there is a way to connect a PTFE AN fitting to a barbed fitting. I've run multiple searches without success.
My engine is a Mike Forte-built 363 SBF with a Sniper II EFI, and I’m using a Forte-supplied Holley in-tank pump (Part # 12-345) along with a 14 micron WIX filter (#33243) that Mike supplied. Both the fuel pump and filter have barbed(pushlock?) fittings.
If possible, I’d like to run braided PTFE line from the tank to the filter to the hard lines, and from the hard lines to the Sniper. The return line would be braided PTFE line from the pressure regulator to the hard line and from the hard line to the tank. (I'm aware that I'll need PTFE AN fittings.) I would ground the filter. But so far I can’t figure out how to attach PTFE braided line to the barbed fittings on the pump and filter.
I may be able to swap out the fittings in the fuel pump for AN fittings but that still leaves the filter. Should I just buy a different filter that has AN fittings?
Am I overthinking this? Should/can I just use hose such as Earl's Vapor Guard on the tank side of the hard lines and PTFE braided hose on the engine side of the hard lines?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Geoff
