We are running our exhaust out the rear of the car. Not using side pipes. We are at the point where we are trying to select mufflers. We have been looking at mufflers with 2.5 in and out, approximately 4 in. in diameter and 20 in. long. We see some of these round mufflers say they are resonators. Not sure if that is necessary for a cobra. We would like a muffler with limited back pressure. Maybe this is all asking to much. Some help and recommendations on this selection would be appreciated.
Thank you very much

Take a look at Spintech. Several others here have used them. They are rectangular and will fit nicely under the seat area. Street Cruiser 7000 series dimensions are 2.5" x 9" x 16" and allow for various in and out locations.

Cleve, I used the Spintech 7000s, 2 1/4 pipe (local fabrication shop) and BBK shorty headers. Here's a video of my first start, you can hear how they sound.

I used a stainless steel replacement muffler for 1969 mustang Shelby. It is a transverse muffler. mine are 2 1/4 but they make them in 2.5

Here’s mine, SBF with SpinTech 7000 series mufflers. Mk4 with the ‘old’ IRS, mufflers are 2 1/4 inch thick, as are the pipes.

Cleve, Dan Ziol, our machinist, did undercar exhaust on his car a few years ago. You may want to get in touch with him and see how he did it. Send me an email and I can forward it to Dan.
