MK4 Headlight Switch Knob Removal

Hello all,

I’m finishing up my dash and am installing the headlight switch but can’t remove the knob. I’ve removed the retaining screw but the knob is very tight. I’ve used some WD but no luck. I’m afraid to pull too hard as I don’t want to break the switch. Any tips?

There’s a button on top of the switch that releases the knob and shaft together.
