View Full Version : Shifter
I'm looking for ideas on a shifter for 700R4. Many people seem to use the Lokar but they are close to $500.00 now. I appreciate any thoughts the forum might have.

What about considering a Pro-Ratchet or Pro-Gate Shifter from B&M?

Both work with the 700-R4 transmission.

Thanks I’ll check them out. Do you have experience with them? I do know B+M from “back in the day”.

I like the Holley MegaShifter ... put one in my 59 Chevy Apache 30 years ago, been very reliable.

I have a complete trans mount Lokar that came with the car that I would sell. I switched to a B&M Quick Silver 198457

This is the one I would sell. I can't believe this is the best pic I have of it. If you are interested, I can take pics of it out of the car. 198458

I'm interested. I assume it is in good working order? Would you please pm me the price.
Thanks Lewis

I had the B&M Ratchet in my 1980 Z/28 that I lost in Hurricane Katrina back in 2005. I was running a manual valve body in a Turbo-400 so you had no choice but to shift like a manual (Without A Clutch) since it was no longer an Auto-Magic transmission.
A friend of mine has Pro-Stick in his car, 1964 Chevy II (Nova) which is still capable of shifting itself which is a Turbo-350 model. Though I have never driven his car, I can attest that it has been in there for over two decades.
Hope This Helps & Good Luck!

Here ya go, the bracket has paint on it, i'm sure it's easily removable. The shifter and linkage is as it should be.

There's a switch on the side, not sure if it's neutral safety or back up lights
