Good evening all! I have some questions about pedals... and the accelerator cable...

First question: is the Brake pedal supposed to be hitting a cross member?

also, trying to secure the accelerator cable. I snipped off the barrel end as directed. But the cable retaining locknut is too large for the sheath end...the end of the sheath looks to already have a retaining nut on it...

thanks for your help

You have to adjust the brake pedal at the master cylinder to not hit the frame cross member. Should stop right behind it. Affects the valving in the master cylinder if stopped short. I typically then adjust the clutch pedal to be the same height as the brake pedal. But some like it above. Depends on your preference plus your clutch setup, cable vs. hydraulic, etc. Can't help with the cable. Sorry.

Ditch the cable for the throttle and go with this setup. A lot of people like it for the feel and response as compared to the cable.

I would echo Paul's comments about not having the brake arm hit the cross member. I had adjusted mine to the point where I thought it was not touching, but after a few rides I discovered that the brake arm was just touching the cross member. Even though it only needed a very small adjustment, the interference was causing brake drag after driving at highway speed (wasn't an issue with speeds under 50 mph). Easy fix, but certainly easier to address before the foot box is all buttoned up.
