Coyote Engine Cover

Could anyone clarify what engine covers will fit on a gen3 Coyote? I hear gen2’s fit with minor adjustments but wanted to confirm?

Obviously a Gen 3 cover fits. It's not terrible with the wings cut off. IMO looks better than awkward fit (just my opinion) of previous gen covers.

Maybe you've seen in my Coupe build thread I added extensions to the Gen 3 cover and painted it body color. Happy with how it looks.

Thanks Paul! I’ve got a line on a new/used Gen2 engine cover and am just not sure if it will fit. Sounds like it will but also that none fit/look perfectly. No trying yuck on anyone’s yum, but rather see what’s compatible with minor changes.

Mike Forte use to sell a modified Gen 2 cover that fits. I'm not sure if he still does.

I may have been wrong in my post. Forte's cover that he was selling may have been a Gen 1 and not Gen 2. Mine looks just like JeffP's.

I have tried all three covers, Gen 1,2, and 3 and didnt like the look. The early ones can be made to fit but this is what I went with.
I still have the Gen 1 and 3 covers by the way.

So the Gen 1 cover fits the gen 3? I think the the Gen 1 cover is BY FAR the best looking stock cover to start with before paint.

Mike Forte sells them modified and ready to go.

Yes, Mike Forte will sell you a modified Gen I to go on the Gen III, but notice there's no valve covers. Too much interference.

I did the Gen3 cover with its wings clipped, still may do like Paul did with some extensions

I did see this recently. I still think I like the Gen 1 best BUT I like the faux carbon fiber. Kind of blends with dash and other details. Thanks for providing the links Paul!! Truth be told I was going to install a Boss 302 intake just because it looks so much better than stock but the performance improvements of a Gen 3 intake won the day.

I don't know if this directly fits into this discussion, but here's my cover(s) creativity of the Gen 2 Coyote in my Gen 3 Type-65 Coupe.
In part I wanted to dress up the covers and cover/clean up much of the wiring and hoses covering the Coyote and loved the finned look and historic nature of the Cobra LeMans valve cover.
