hey guys, i've put some pics of the parts i'm developing for the gtm in my album. i'm planning to have the mirrors and the door panels done first and will advertise here when i'm ready for production. the tailight/center cover, kick panels and rest of the redesigned interior will be next. (dash, center console, rear console cover, center armrest, rollcage covers) planned on having the parts going already but my brother was in a bike accident and it has taken some of my time recently. hope to have the first pieces going within the next month. these parts will be vaccum infused using epoxy resin and will be uv clearcoated with hardware ready to install. happy building!

Do you have any plans for making parts for any of the other models? Just curious if you will be branching out, or sticking to the GTM. Thanks!

Steve

i've had some interest in roadster parts and will probably make the dash, door panels and center console in cf if there are buyers.

Cant wait to see more. I'm interested in a complete carbon fiber interior. Would like to see the tail light/center area makeover as well

I checked out your gallery, holy cow!! You have some talent and skills there. Those are pretty complex molds you have going on there. Very impressed! I wish I have worked with fiberglass more, I have only done fiberglassing a few times mostly back in the early 80s with my jetboat.

thanks. with the talent you show in your renderings, and some practice you could get those renderings in real 3d i have no doubt. i planned on being in production by now, but i bit off more with the exterior. WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE IT! i've never been as pumped about anything as i am the front end i'm doing. i've got a computer rendering of it (not as clean as your stuff) and i stare at it all the time.

Thanks, I wish I could afford and knew how to use something like Solidworks, right now I just do everything in Photoshop, a lot of work when it comes to shading and shadows. I still don't know to use photoshop to it's full extent.......lol I have Illustrator but I don't have the patience to learn it, I like to spend my time designing and doing graphics....

I look fwd to seeing your front end design, always cool checking out people's visions.

Before you go into production, please become a supporting vendor. I've attached the information for your convenience (http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/content.php?125-Advertisers-and-Supporting-Vendors-Information.) The rates are extremely affordable and help support the Forum.

Thanks,

Ray

solidworks is my next venture. i'd like to start designing with it and get my stuff cut out on 5 axis. it's becoming more affordable as more people are doing it. have you seen the 3d lasers that can scan something from a tripod mount? you set it up on a tripod and scan an object and the image is converted into exact dimesion 3d in the computer. i saw it used once to make a custom alternator bracket from billet aluminum. they scanned the front of the engine bay and made the part in the program, cnc'd it out and bolted it up! amazing!

don't worry ray, i'm not even showing any cf parts here until i am a vendor. that's why i'm only showing molds. this is going to be the only place i advertise.

Not sure, but didn't FFR do something like that with the lazer scan for the 818.

not sure, but it's amazing technology. it would be great to do models in scale and just scan and cnc! sure easier than the way i do it!

It sure is. Back around the mid 2000s I saw a boat design from one of the boat forums I hang out in and it showed a design that went from computer to a mold using some kind of scanning, really amazing.
