I have an MK II and was doing my safety checks for the Spring Meet. A couple of weird things I have found I'm hoping someone has seen before.

1. Front turn signals ONLY work with headlights or running lights off. Rear turn signals are fine headlights on or off.
2. Brake lights come on with light pressure to the pedal but once I get past that they turn off. - FIXED loose ground under dash

Any pointers or experience with these 2 gremlins?

Thanks

Got the brake lights working again. Found a ground wire under the dash that had gotten loose was just laying on the dash bar so probably just intermittent grounding.

Are you using LED turn signals?

Hi Henry

No LEDs anywhere but I think I may have found the issue just need to dig into the wiring tomorrow. I have some P700 tribar headlights and I noticed they have little turn signal bulbs inside the headlight. I'm guessing something is a miss with that setup.

I’m betting that the parking lights were miswired and are illuminating the high element rather than the low. If so that would overpower the low element when the turn signals are activated.

Exactly, and you would never see them blinking.

They do blink just fine but only when the headlights or running lights are off. When headlights or running lights are on they stay lit but no longer blink when turn signal is activated.

But as usual you guys nailed it! Reversed the wires on the front turn signals and everything works 100%.

Thank you gentlemen, hope to meet you at the Spring Meet.
