This is for the Oregon guys , what is required to register a FFR cobra in Oregon? Is it a difficult process? Hopefully not. Thanks in advance for your help.

Not at that point yet. The documentation seems simple enough. If you go to the DMV web site there a list of forms and the process for a home built or replica car.

Its been a little while since I went through it for my 818, but it was very easy. Figuring out exactly what forms were needed was a little tough, but its just a matter of paying the fee. No inspections. Assuming its the same for a cobra.

Just a quick question, I have looked at all the Oregon DMV sites and I can’t find the vehicle requirements to be registered, ie, are bumpers required, are windshield wipers? Hopefully someone knows.

I think the state requirements are in the various general requirements for vehicles. As far as the registration process goes I don't think there are any. I could have registered my kit on the day it showed up at my house for all the state cared about vehicle condition when I did mine. They told me they don't want to tell you if you did anything right or wrong because they don't want any liability. No one ever looked at my car. This was back in 2018, so things could have changed.

Well, I'm right in there with you (Junction City, OR). I'm researching for a 289 USRRC-style Cobra. (I'm early, as the kit arrives from FF in early July).
I'm from California and just moved here 2yrs ago, so have a lot to figure out compared to CA. DMV provided form 735-6511... yep, I'm a 'replica',
but have no idea on... catalytic converter, lights, mirrors, exhaust noise, -- like everything. Trying DEQ next.

Well, this is one year later and you may have discovered what you need.
My experience (I responded early on last May) is that I'm partially through my Mk 4 build (BPE 347 isn't installed yet), but I did research everything last year.
It's probably the easiest in the country. (I'm from Santa Cruz, CA, now newly married and retired in Junction City, OR)
DMV doesn't issue a VIN#, they want you to use the FFR-issued S/N and have that engraved in the VIN field on your metalized tag for the car.
Dept. of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has no req'ts whatsoever unless you live in the Portland-ish area or the Medford-ish area.
No specific muffler req'ts; no catalytic converter, etc.
DMV doesn't do a physical inspection of the car; no one does. They assume you are taking care of the basics (safety glass, lights, etc.)
I don't recall if there is even a 'use-tax' or some such -- but I'm suspecting it's not onerous, if so (hope to not be surprised).

I went into the DMV office in Corvallis last week and indeed it would appear that Oregon should be easier than most other States I have read about on here.
I wanted to confirm I could license a 65 coupe here before I purchased it.
Manufactures certificate of origin and all receipts.
The DMV Assembled, Reconstructed or Replica Vehicle Certification form and select the 3rd option-Replica.
No vehicle weight, safety or emissions inspection. Just VIN or in this case the serial number inspection.
This was the point of some confusion as this office had not done this before but the person helping me was a long-time employee and helpful as he could be.
Assumption is the DMV would issue a VIN based on the serial number, possibly the same?
If someone has done this please advise.
The vehicle does need to be quote "mostly complete - but not required to be running" as in could be trailed in for the VIN inspection.
Last thing I can think of is vehicle year as I don't think they can use in my case 1965 listed for the Replica.
I would think it would be the date/year listed on the Manufactures certificate or origin.
If you have gone thru this here please correct me if I am wrong.
This is as close as I could get to confirm my original question at this time.

So, I titled in Hillsboro. Took receipts, COO. They did not even look at the car, I originally was trying to get a trip permit, but the gal behind the counter asked "Any reason you don't want to just title it today?" Of course I said yes, if we can and she took the info, filled out the forms, 1965 Replica on the title so no DEQ. I walked out with the title in process and received it and plates about 1 month later. They did use the serial number for the VIN.

This thread prompted me to look into the DMV yesterday and what you're reporting sounded exactly like what I read. Oregon only does VIN inspections for specific reasons and titling a replica is not one of them. I'm glad it was so simple for you. I think I will make and appointment and go ahead and get it done sooner rather than later. It does mention receipts on the website - curious if you brought some, all or none?
