Another post reminded me I want to ask this:

Do I need to install a pad, bushing, shims, bracket, or washers (anything?), between the tranny and the FFR trans mount? does it need to be raised or isolated in any way? (I didn't see it mentioned in the Build Manual, but the picture on page 238 (of the Base Kit manual) looks like a bracket is bolted to the bottom of the transmission. I see a Transmission mount Adapter Bracket for 99-04, but nothing for a '93.

I'm running:

302 (with the OEM motor mounts, not convertible)
T5 transmission w/S-10 mid-shift conversion
IRS rear-end

You'll need a transmission mount:

http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znetcs/product-info/en/US/egs/4.1104G/image/4/

Note that in this image of an Energy Suspension polyurethane mount it is actually shown upside down. The wide flange bolts to the trans tail housing and the narrower spaced bolts align with the removeable FFR "A" frame.

It is generally recommended to use like components for engine and trans mounts; i.e. if you have OEM rubber motor mounts use an OEM rubber trans mount. Likewise for poly engine mounts use a poly trans mount.

You may find that you need to shim the trans up from the "A" frame to fine tune the driveshaft angle.

Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks Jeff! That's about what I figured, my transmission didn't come with one.
Good to know.

Wonder if O'Reily's stocks 'em?
