On Page 153 of the most current Roadster manual for the steering shaft install, FFR has you drill in a 5/16" recess into the 1" DD tube. Which is great as I don't recall that from my last build in 2018. That said, there's no recess noted for the lower solid 3/4" DD shaft. Would there be a reason for that? I was going to put another 5/16" recess there as well for the safety factor.

I had to modify my steering shaft to fit my EPAS, I did a small detente. I also plan to get slightly longer set screws and use nylock nuts and lock-tight, seems there was some threads about them loosening up.

F500, I am not sure I'd use locktite. My impression is that the screws don't actually move, but that the tips work into and deform the recess and create a bit of clearance. So I'd want to be able to loosen your nylocks and tighten the set screws again.

Loc-tite will eat away at the material in the nylock nuts, rendering them ineffective. Choose one or the other.

Yes! No Locktite on nylocks. It melts the nylon....and then you just have a regular nut!
