Guys,

I have to apologize for my absence from posting here on the forum over the last three weeks or so. I sorta gave some warnings as we neared the year-end, but really didn’t anticipate the volume or intensity of the work I was facing. My efforts have been very focused on the details regarding the purchase of my brother's shares of the company. This buy-out is very very good for the company in many ways and yet the effort to accomplish this has been much bigger than I anticipated.

The good news is that it will be a simple historical fact in another few weeks and FFR will soon have some additional resources and energy to commit to new projects.

Anyway, I wanted to say sorry for the absence and if you’ve PM’d me, you should hear from me soon as I wade thru those important messages. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am passionate about this company… Well, I can tell you truthfully that I have NEVER been as excited and positive about the future of the company as I am these days based on what is soon to be closed on. Thanks for your patience and understanding. I will give you guys full details after the work is done, but for now am grateful for the latitude.

Well, Dave, I know this update is not project related but it is really good news for anyone who owns or is thinking of owning an FFR kit. I knew I made a very good decision when I got my roadster and have felt that way ever since. I can't imagine you any more excited or focused but this might do it. You just have to avoid getting so excited as to "spontaneously combust"! Hang in there and good luck for 2012 and beyond. WEK.

Latitude? Give you some latitude? Surely you jest. Those of us that know and understand this hobby, and know and understand Factory Five, really get that we are very lucky indeed to have an enterprise like FFR to feed our automotive obsession.

Latitude? You've broken so many rules and made them work (weld anything and everything in China, for example...) that the benchmark set by FFR for manufacturing in the USA, with American labor, should be an article in the Harvard Business Review. If more companies operated like FFR, we wouldn't be talking about the crap economy. People would simply be working.

You get all the latitude you want, Dave. Thanks for what you do up there.

Dave,

I just bought some stock in the Green Bay Packers. Are you offering any in FFR?

Ray,
You already "share" in the enjoyment of being an FFR owner/builder.

Dave,
Best wishes in the new year!

Thanks for the space. Now that the buy-out is complete I am making good progress on catching up. I was considering PM bankruptcy for a few days as I faced 30 unanswered PM's, but I then read thru a post about Cheney's butt tattoos and figured I can work my way thru this if others had the patience to read that! If you sent me a PM, I am not dead and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

We just finished a planning sesh for the next 3 months of shows and I have some Moochfest news to post next.
