Has anyone swapped out their TKO-600 for a 4R70W from the bottom of a MKIII?

I do not want to pull the engine.

I'm currently researching this.

I think it can be done, but it would great to talk to someone who has done it.

Thanks in advance.

I did similar on my Mk1 changing from T5 to AOD and loaded it in from underneath without removing the engine. I did it! Once only and probably never again. I removed the tunnel cover, the flex-plate and separator plate. Jacked the back of the engine upwards for clearance. Loaded up the AOD at an angle and rotated towards horizontal as it went in. Had to remove the transmission mount from the frame for clearance and welded in a new one when done. I had a retainer bracket holding the TC in.

PG_Cobra,
Thanks so much for the info. hearing that you did it with a MKI and an AOD gives me hope it will work for me.
I'm going to get an old 4R70W and strip it out and use the empty core to mockup my install to confirm I can do it before I go to the expense of getting one first.

Have fun!! I had the advantage of a 4 post lift so I could work underneath easily.
