While gandering under the car just now trying to make decisions for routing of brake lines and such.. I noticed red fluid dripping (Stage II ((hasn't hit the brake disc as far as I can tel)) for those prior service folks) off of the ring gear. I haven't added fluid or red grease to anything so I figure it has to be coming from the hub. The torque value was 250ft/lbs which I had to purchase a new torque wrench for so I realize it's under quite a force but anyway.... What to do?

I found the FFR supplied hubs to be very poor quality and there's been lots of posts on this forum about issues. I replaced mine with some good quality Moog units, cheap insurance. Just remember the spindle nuts are one time use so they will need replacing also.

Its just grease dripping. Not sure why this happens but I have noticed this grease breakdown on other things as well. My guess is the grease is being made cheaper and with poor ingredients.

I've had no issues with the FFR supplied hubs on any of the cars I've built. The red is just residual lube from the manufacturer's initial assembly. Clean it off and move on.

Yep, wipe it off and have a great day. I don't know the chemical reason why but I keep red grease in my grease gun. I have it hanging in a mount that has a built in catch tray under it. Dang thing leaks red oil out like crazy. Any time I grab the gun I take a rag w/ me to wipe it down first.

I used red grease and this is what happened to me, too. I just wipe it off...over several months it is not as obvious as before...
