I'm getting ready to retire and have decided to relocate to Missouri from Colorado. Are there any potential issues I need to be aware of with owning and insuring a FFR Roadster in Missouri?

Thanks,
Dave

I'd seek out the Mid-America Cobra Club; there are many members here in Kansas City, on the Missouri side, that could help you.

And on a side note, you are the first person I've known to move TO Missouri willingly. Hah. Most people move FROM Missouri as soon as they can! Give Kansas a look...we're neighbors, after all!!! :)

I have lots of good friends in the Gateway Cobra Club and in fact have done cars for some of their members. Reach out, join their forum and ask. I know one who purchased a completed car from out of state and had to transfer the title to MO recently and it went smoothly. I’d imagine it would be much the same for you.

As an aside, I did a full build for a Missouri owner who provided a freshly built engine that came from a donor Mustang. He had never transferred the title for that car to himself and when he attempted to title the roadster could not prove ownership for the engine’s VIN. It was a real mess and took him almost a full year to sort it out!

Good luck with the move Dave!

If the car already carries a Colorado (or other state) title, you won't have any issues.

Where in the state are you landing? Mid-America Cobra Club covers the West, Gateway Cobra club on the East

We'll be in Mexico. A bit closer to St. Louis than Kansas City.

Papa,
Mexico, MO is about 1-1/2 hrs from the western edge of Saint Louis and also the area most of our members are concentrated. You'll find we are a 'driving' group with a number of cruises each year. We try to do an overnight Spring cruise and our biggy is an extra-long weekend in Northwest Arkansas. We'll typically gather up around 10-15 cars for our cruises.

You'll find the roads North of I-70 aren't much to write about but South of I70 and east of Kingdom City is the Mark Twain forest. We've been exploring roads here for the past 15+ years and still haven't been on all of them.

Get in touch with us when you arrive, we'd love to have you join us. Join us on our forum: Gateway Cobra Club (https://gatewaycobraclub.com)
