AI generated build steps. I think I need to add some more variables to my input.

Building a Factory Five Roadster is a detailed and complex process, and it's recommended for individuals with mechanical skills. Here's a simplified overview, but please note that these steps are generalized, and you should refer to the specific Factory Five assembly manual for detailed instructions:

Ordering:
Purchase the Factory Five Roadster kit and any additional components you may need.

Workspace:
Set up a well-equipped workspace with ample room for assembly and tools.

Inventory Check:
Verify that all the components are present and in good condition.

Chassis Assembly:
Start by assembling the chassis per the provided instructions. This involves attaching suspension components, brakes, and steering.

Drivetrain Installation:
Install the engine, transmission, and rear end according to the manual.

Body Mounting:
Mount the body onto the chassis. Follow precise guidelines to ensure proper alignment.
Wiring and Plumbing:
Connect the electrical components, including lights and gauges. Address any necessary plumbing for brakes and cooling systems.

Interior Installation:
Install seats, dashboard, and any interior components specified in the manual.

Finishing Touches:
Paint the vehicle or apply any desired finishes. Install wheels, tires, and other exterior components.

Testing:
Conduct thorough testing of all systems, including brakes, lights, and engine functionality.

Registration and Inspection:
Once everything is assembled and tested, register your completed vehicle and ensure it meets local safety and emissions standards.

Throughout the process, follow the Factory Five assembly manual diligently. It provides step-by-step instructions and safety guidelines. If you're not comfortable with any aspect, consider seeking assistance from experienced builders or professionals.

It's really about the same as assembling an IKEA bookshelf or a gas grill.

I don't like it when people ask me if it's a "KIT". A "KIT" sounds like something that goes together with bolt A in hole B with everything easy/peasy.

I will politely tell them that, followed by "I like to think of it as a "replica" rather than a "kit".

Or tell them it's a Factory Five Racing tube framed, fiberglass bodied, component race car, that you built to be street legal. :)

When my adult kids surprised me with the Roadster kit as a birthday gift, they told me it would be just like building a lego model.

/\ /\ This is the good answer. I also think "KIT" seems to lean toward there only one specific way to put it together.

I have a friend with some nice muscle cars. I mentioned to him I was building a Factory Five. His response was "Oh, you're putting together a KIT car? Why??"

I showed One of my coworkers a pic of the 33 hot rod from the Brochure, and he asked "Does it require any Fiero parts?"
