Quick quesiton

Looking at running in excess of 400 hp, any issues with 3/8" fuel line or should one upgrade to 1/2"? Any issues with running 1/2" fuel line - fuel fliter size using mechanical fuel pump?

3/8" is plenty for 400 HP (and easily 50% more than that).

My engine builder told me to run -8 aka 1/2" fuel line for my 450hp 347. I thought it sounded crazy but thats what I am doing.

You're right that is crazy, and costly.

Your fuel pickup isn't anywhere near that big. You can only pump as much as your smallest fuel system part will allow.

I have an external fuel pump, and a -10 pick up. Initially I ran a -10 line to the pump, and then a -6 line to the engine. That worked just fine to over 500hp. When I started pushing 600hp I upgraded to -8. Probably didn't really need to, but it made me feel better.

I'm using -6 with Mass Flo injection per their recomendations so we'll see. 429ci/500hp
