Another dumb post from theshandman: Has anyone taken the time or effort to assess the number of individual parts that go into the assembly of a F5 Mk4? (The jury's still out over at F5). Sure, I could have recorded this as I went and even estimated based on the sheets and sheets of inventory but not having thought of it 'till after completion, (graduation pics forthcoming) it's a bit late to do so. Of course every car assembly is unique in many terms, the number of parts notwithstanding but on average, I wonder how many piece parts any one of us has handled over the course of our builds. Counting rivets, nuts, washers, bolts, etc. it's gotta be in the mid to high hundreds I'm guessing. Maybe more? Perhaps tonight Santa will stick a post-it on my windshield with my number. Merry Christmas y'all!

I’m thinking more like thousands of parts if counting individual rivets, nuts, bolts, washers, etc. Also variable build to build depending on things like wipers, heaters, AC, etc

there are about 80 individual parts just in the complete exhaust system.

I seem to recall the number 19,000 of discrete parts if you get down to the fastener level, but I have no idea where I saw that.

If you’re really that curious, I can scan my inventory sheets for you. But it’s kind of an exercise of insanity in that counting it all up will change nothing whatsoever.

I stopped counting rivets after 3 boxes of 100...

Once upon a time I had heard that near 1500 rivets were used. Seems high to me, but there were a ton of them.
