Fuel Filler Neck Alignment

Does anyone have any tricks to align the fill cap connector hose and fill tube in order to align the fill tube into the gas tank gasket without the push/pull on the tank gasket?

I’m not happy with the alignment.

I don't remember having a tough time. I think things lined up pretty well and just needed to cut the hose between the filler and the tube to length.

Agree, was not even a concern.
