I drove my car for the first time yesterday and my first impression was that it has STUPID power. This car can be downright dangerous with a 427 in it. I'm very happy with everything, now to close out the drivers side footbox and start on body mounting.

Very cool. Sounds like an exciting moment and milestone. Looking forward to when I get to do it with my build.

It didn't happen unless there's a video :p
I'd keep the DS footbox open until you are absolutely sure you're satisfied w/ pedal height. I put 50miles on the odometer in go kart stage tooling around my neighborhood.
Also consider putting a dead pedal on the outer wall of the box. Now's the time to do it if you wanted to consider it.

You are correct on the power. There are a lot of posts about the few who have danced on the blade and got cut. My wife nicknamed my Cobra as "Dangerous and Unecessary".

I laughed out loud at that nickname! I'm not sure if I want to share that with my wife, she would likely plagiarize it.
