height of grill radiator etc.......

So I'm still in stage 1 with engine (blueprint 306 installed) I'm mounting the grill (yes i ordered it separate so I can go kart) What is supposed to be the height off ground for the assembly? I dont want to have to move it around much and then drain and refit hoses............I'll be running fenders so bottom hole on chassis. Right now I have the brackets bottomed out on the chassis bolts but I'm not sure if that is close near or far...............My brackets that mount to the chassis are slotted if that makes any difference. I realize there will be some flex to hoses and once this is all done I'm going to get solid one piece set up for the hoses but right now I'm itching to get it close and go Kart. So any help/ advice/ for height off ground for the grill would be great. If this has been answered I'm a dummy and cant find it..........................

I wouldn't worry about the position of the grill until you start fitting the body and side panels. It is likely you will need to make some adjustments.

My 33 is up on jack stands now so I cannot measure. I am running fenders and am using the lower suspension holes as well. By these photos, I would guess it is around 6-7" from the lowest point on the grill to the ground. I hope these photos give you a close idea. I also moved my radiator support up about 1/2" on the mounting slots to give me a bit more radiator to ground clearance and to give me a bit more under hood clearance for my intake manifold.

You’ve got coilovers, you can adjust them to whatever height you want.
The FFR frame to floor height was way to low for me, I was scrapping the bottom edges of the running boards just going over the berm at the end of my driveway.

The height and tilt of your grill is irrelevant at this point until you fit the body panels. If you plan on polishing or painting it you'll have to take it all apart anyway unless you do that before you Go-Kart. I have about a 3 /8" gap in the slots above above the heads of the control arm bolts and you don't want to tilt it back too much when you fit the body panels.

I am working on a 35 truck and I am in the same situation. It looks to me that the "Choice" of ride height makes a difference on the grill as well. I never considered this when selecting the "Higher" height. I needed the ground clearance as my subdivision has several large speed bumps. Using the lower holes on the frame to raise ride, also means the radiator mount uses the lower mounting point on the chassis and thus the entire grill is lower relative to the engine bay and cab of the truck. (If any of that makes sense)

My issues is this lower angle means more filler on the grill surround. For the truck the hood does not go all the way to the grill; the surround is a complete circle, and meets the hood about 8 inches back. That being said, the height and angle of the grill surround looks funny as the top line of the hood has a very distinct dip at the point they meet. I really like the Hot Rod hood that goes all the way to the grill, I may just cut up my grill surround and extend the hood to meet the grill. I'm not running engine side covers so there shouldn't be an angle issue there.

Update, because the radiator is lower on the chassis, the lower radiator hose appears to point directly at the lower suspension cross plate that ties the two front lower A arms tot he frame. Not sure how to solve this one without cutting the plate in the middle.
