I have a Mk 4, 351W that I am preparing to remove the engine to change to a roller cam (I know it is possible with the engine in the car, but I am a glutten for punishment).
Do the side pipes and headers need to be removed to accomplish engine removal? I know you have to unbolt the headers from the heads, so don't mention that, but will the assembly move enough to get the engine out and in again? Would loosening the swivel joint be enough, or do you have to remove the header entirely?
Hope this is not a stupid question, but the locknuts used on my car are a pain in the keester to remove and re-install.
Thanks, Ralph
