I came up with a stop bracket for my car and as soon as I drilled the holes in the 3/4" tube and installed it, it gave me an idea for an easier way to do the same thing without needing to drill the 3/4" tube.
I work in a machine shop so making these was very easy but they could be made with a drill, tap, and hacksaw.
Here's my first version that is installed in my car.

As you can see from the photos, this requires you to drill the 3/4" and use both hands with wrenches to install and make adjustments. Pretty easy with the footbox side panel off, but not so easy when the car is finished.

The important parts to remember when making this one is the length of the L shaped bracket that is against the nut needs to be the correct length in both directions so it will start to pinch the 3/4" tube at the top, away from the nut. And, the 1/2" rod with 1/2-13 threads needs to be up against the bottom of the 3/4" tube.
I machined my 1/2" rod, then threaded it and then welded it in place. You could use 1/2-13 all-thread and just tap the L bracket and thread it in if you can't weld.

Jim,
I like it and very timely as I've been working on a clutch stop for my (slow) build.

This is perfect for my needs. Had 2 items on my list to do before closing up the foot box: make dead pedal & clutch stop. Did the dead pedal, but moved on with the build before doing a clutch stop. This winter I’m replacing the FFR clutch cable with the recommended OEM Ford unit. While I’m under there, this stop design will be a perfect add.
