I have seen a few threads on air jacks here. Seems the few who have them use Allstar as the solution. I am curious know how much lift is needed to allow the hood to open when the front airfoil from the coupe R is present.
Allstar has options with 11.75” or 15.25” stroke while Nuke performance has a 9.75” option.
Can someone measure the distance from the nose to the ground when the hood is open on a coupe without the front airfoil? I should be able to calculate from there what I will see with the air foil.
Or if someone has the coupe R with air jacks, how much space do you have under the nose when lifted? And what size Airjack did you use?
Thanks

Is anyone able to take a measurement for me?
- Nose to floor when hood is open
- gap between tires and fenders
- wheel size

I cannot get you a measurement at the moment but hood open fully with front aero spoiler on when chassis height was 5.5 inches. Its set to 4" now and the spoiler hits the ground and does not fully open. I plan to use stance air cups which will raise car 2" when i go over speed bumps. when parked I can activate the stance cups to open the hood fully without removing the aero spoiler.

just an interesting but expensive option
compressor not necessary and no air leaks

#Fasteddie41458, those air cups are a great solution. Do you plan to cut the shock mounts of the car and replace them so you can use the style shock they require?

Do you still need measurements? I have an R model and can help. Let me know.

GT_Rich, yes please. More data is always good!
Thanks

I took measurements from the ground. My concrete is very flat in this area of the garage. My ride height is 3.4". Front fender lips are 27" off the ground. With the nose open, ironically it is also 3.4" off the ground, with the lowest point being at the bottom of the air inlet. I have my aluminum notched so the hood opens quite a bit...80 degrees maybe.
This is all without the R bumper bolted up.

Out of necessity
I'm redesigning the hinge to swing from a different point so that I can lift the nose without hitting the splitter.
I wish FFR would have done that for the R versions.
when you're racing and something bad happens sometimes you can't get the hood open FAST enough
I'm fortunate to have access to anything i need to build it how I want to
my slitter is 2" from ground at track ride height.
my SFI 25.1 spec frame has 1" more ground clearance than the FFR frame.
my wheel well lips are less than 25.5" from ground in front and 26" in rear
