I recently completed my Gen 2 Type 65 Coupe w/ Ford 302 Engine. I have never liked the use of the TorcTite connectors for connecting the headers to the sidepipes. Also, the FFR stock sidepipes are incredibly loud. I am exploring other sidepipes, but the connection detail to the Gen 3 headers is more prevalent. Specifically, Spintech has a set of sidepipes for the Gen 3 Headers that I am considering, but I need the new style headers.
Has anybody changed out the Gen 2 old school headers and sidepipes with the Gen 3 Headers (Item 16757) and Sidepipes (Item 60808)?
If so, what modifications were required to the body?
