Hello. So after hand tightening all four diff bolts I discovered that the diff is about 1/8” shorter front to back than the spacing between the respective brackets. It makes sense or installation would be much more difficult.

My question, assuming after I torque the four bolts the gap will remain, doesn’t look like any of those parts are going to flex under torque, is it better to have that gap at the front bolts or rear bolts? Asking for CV alignment reasons. Maybe it doesn’t matter?

I’m new here and I think this gets asked once a week lol. Throw some washers in there if you want. Otherwise I don’t think it’s an issue.

Lesson learned, I will make it a habit to check past posts first. I decided to leave the gap at the front bolt positions so I can have as much bolt threaded into the aluminum in the rear of the diff as possible.
