Hi. Well, the title says it all. The DS rear differential bolt has another 1/4” or so to go but the torque wrench, set to 100 ftlb per manual, is already clicking.

Any recommendations? Thank you.

I should add the other three bolts have not been tightened, but they did go all the way in relatively easily. I backed them out just a little to see if it would help with the fourth one but it didn’t make any difference.

Positive you have the right bolt there? And that it's not bottoming out? Take the bolt out and measure the depth and compare to the bolt you're using. Threads on either the bolt or the housing could be damaged. Or maybe the housing isn't threaded as deep as it should be. All reasons to remove the bolt and examine everything.

The bolt is identical to the other rear bolt. I even threaded it from the front side of that same rear mount since it’s a through hole on the differential and the bolt went in and I could see it going into the bushing. So took it out and installed it the right way again. Same problem.

Try one of the other bolts, put a little anti-seize on the threads, run a tap through it,,,,
One of those should make a difference.

Double check the thread pitch on the nut that it matches the bolt or metric nut on a standard bolt. Some will go on quite a says before binding.

Thank you for your help, gentlemen. I switched the bolts left to right which made a little difference. I then added a little bit of antiseize and everything worked out. :)

That's interesting. Maybe cleaning up the threads.
Glad it worked out in the end.
