Nothing needed if you route the wires around with sufficient clearance and have them tied down.

I agree with Edward, but you do have to take a little extra precaution around the column because of the amount of wiring in that area. A few extra zip ties and maybe a fabricated bracket to hold the wiring away from the column.

Maybe one could slide a motorcycle shock boot over the column leg?

Try some of the split wiring loom. It comes in various sizes. Just pick color and size you need.
I put some over the F5R power steering lines to cover the tubing after bending left it unattractive.

The wire should NOT touch the steering shaft.

GGunter,

I was thinking the same thing: a simple bracket to restrain any "sagging" looms :)

I used some metal strap that I had laying around, bent it around the steering shaft and screwed it into the 2" frame.

I used a 2” emt two hole strap , keeps the wires clear of the steering shaft .

I actually used a piece of pvc tubing to sleeve the shaft just on the off chance something came loose and dropped down. Made a bracket and attached it with a hose clamp.

Wound up using a similar solution with pipe insulation.
