Finished the paint and clear over the weekend.
Turned out great. I rented the paint booth on the Air Force Base which made things nice.
Shout out to Jeff Kleiner for the extremely helpful pointers. I'm fairly new at the paint/bodywork stuff so his input was a life saver.
Now on to final assembly!

There you go! Nice color combination  It's going to look great after the cut and buff.

Thanks Jeff!
I'm very happy with the colors and how it turned out.
Definitely need to cut and buff. I have some orange peel in a few spots. My compressor couldn't keep up with me. I laid down 4 coats of clear.
Thanks again!

That looks awesome! Congrats! Cut and buff, while super tedious, was the most rewarding part of my body work and paint phase on my MkIII. When you hit it with a DA for that final polish, it reveals itself in all it's glory. Have fun!

I would suggest taking all the external accoutrement off before you do it, though. Headlights, tailights, etc...Maybe you have those bit temporarily mounted for these pics.

FWIW, I always do cut and buff with the body still off of the car, and before all of the lights, latches, etc. are installed. It kind of makes a mess with the wet sanding slurry and water plus the flung compound and it's dust.

Yep, same. I've only done a few cars, and I learned on the first one that stuff slings everywhere, and is nearly impossible to get out of the nooks and crannies.

Hey Jeff.
Roger that. I just stuck a few things on temporarily to see what it's going to look like.
Thanks!
