Color?

Anyone know what color this is, or if it is an actual 60’s color? If not, what is the original coupe light blue called?

Looks a whole lot like Brittany Blue, a ford color used in the 1960s. I think it was actually done using one of the Sherwin Williams Factory Five colors which are now discontinued.

I've done a couple of roadsters in Brittany with Wimbledon White. Here's one for comparison:

That looks to be it! Thank you! I love how the color seems to darken depending on viewing angle. Plus, it looks like Brittany Blue Metallic is a new paint code for 2022, so there should be plenty of it!

They are alike in name only, the two colors are totally different. The 1960s era Brittany code is “Q”, #M1624. The current one is “EB” #M7401 and is much more silver.

That color is Viking Blue on this side of the Atlantic.
In UK they refer to it as Princess Blue.

That one looks closer to Brittany Blue as Jeff mentioned. Viking Blue, my car is Viking, seems a bit darker.

I've seen the Coupes done in Portofino Blue, and they look great. This color I believe was introduced by Superformance as an alternative to the Guardian blue which was extremely common on the roadsters.

Jeff K is right in all regards (surprise there eh?). That coupe was a Sherwin Williams colour and it was a beaut when I saw it in the showroom at FF. Brittany blue has more silver than Viking blue and I would suggest getting a sample of each sprayed. I have read that the ‘67 Britany was different than ‘68 so “light” blues are a challenge to decide on.

That paint/color is Vintage Racing Blue, a paint that was developed between Sherwin-Williams and Factory Five.
That Type-65 Coupe is Factory Five's Gen 3 Coupe Prototype and first Gen 3 show car.
The car still exists, now privately owned, but the owner had to totally change out the entire prototype chassis, due to legal regulations.

Vintage Racing Blue's "look" does change with so many factors of lighting, camera, and the whole host of color rendering on computers and files transmitted thru the internet issues. In person viewing is always best.

Sherwin-Williams Vintage Racing Blue paint was offered for a few years but I believe is now not offered for sale. If one can determine the exact paint code and mix, it should be able to be replicated.

Yep, and as I said in post #2 Sherwin Williams has discontinued that line however I happen to know from trying to track down one of the colors in that collection that most were regular production color formulas and just rebranded.
