I just ordered a 35 Truck with the Wilwood brakes and Moser rear end and no fenders. Prestige Motorsports 427 crate and Monster AOD-SS trans.

A local wheel/tire shop just returned from SEMA with a Semi full of wheels. I am going to look on Monday. So here is the question:

I am over 60 years old and want as good a ride from the truck as I can. I don't need to go 140mph, just to look like it will. BLUF I don't want or need P35/P45 tires.

P50 is about my personal limit for ride quality. What wheel size to fit an ultra wide 50 profile tire without increasing the overall diameter of the tire too much. Think Indy car wheels/tire size. However with all four the same size.

18x9?
18x10?

If I go up to 19 or 20 inch I think the overall diameter would be too large with a P50 tire....anyone think differently?

Thanks

I used 18x10 on the rear and 17x 8.5 in front with 40 series tires. Decent enough sidewall for a decent ride but still low enough profile for a good look. Go to 18's in front if using bigger than the stock FFR front brakes. 295/40/18 rears. 245/40/17 fronts. The cost of going to 11" wide in the rear with the correct backspace was crazy and hard to find. I have 5 1/2" back space on them. Just the right look for the fenders which your not using. Lower profile tires give a harsher ride and run the risk of denting a wheel if you happen to hit a pothole. It's a Hot Rod but simular.

I would think 18x10 would look good and work

I ordered
18x10s with Nitto NT555 G2 Summer, 275/40R18. Now I just need a truck to put them on.

My wife is saying...Your truck started showing up today. I have a seriously long list of Honey-do's before the delivery date of the truck. I need to get started. LOL
