We are almost at the stage where we need to select a paint shop. I am hoping to select a shop that has experience with Factory Five so that they can complete all of the finishing touches that need to be done inconjunction with and after painting.
We are located in Chicago, but are willing to travel.
Any recommendations?

Jeff Kleiner and Spotlight customs are two that are "reasonably" close.
Kleiner is in Bloomington, IN and spotlight is in GA.

I'm north suburbs of Chicago. I went with Spotlight in Dahlonega, GA and was very happy with the result. As mentioned, you have option with Jeff Kleiner in Bloomington IN. Well known guy in our community but if you're not on "the list" you'll be waiting some time. Don't want to speculate so contact him directly but others have waited years. Two other options to consider are Nostalgic in island lake and Alcade customs south suburbs. I've seen a couple paint jobs by both, and they are excellent. Saw a Alcade job recently at London Cobra Show from one of the Chicago COIL club guys and was really impressed.
I'll give a shout of support for Spotlight. Mike (Bowen) just finished my paint job. He took from me the 'completed' car in gel coat, did all of the gaps/adjustments to the moving panels and hinges, did a complete disassembly, excellent body and paint work, and then full reassembly including installing the elephant ears and a few other things. He knows these cars inside and out. There will still be a wait to get into his shop, but it might not be quite as long as Kleiner's current wait.

I had the same concerns as you - wanted someone who had experience doing the fitment/body/paint work. My conclusion was that there aren't THAT many who have done a lot of the FF Daytona's.
As mentioned, you'll find Jeff Kleiner close to you, and Ken Pike and Jeff Miller in Cali. I spoke to all 3 a little more than a year ago. Mr. Kliener was more than a year out, Jeff Miller had stopped doing Daytona's and Mr. Pike could get me in about 6 months out. I ended up going with Ken Pike. I should be getting the car back in the next few weeks. Check out my recent thread "fitting body and paint" for pics of the paint work so far....

FYI, I did find a painter a bit more locally to me back when I was looking. His name is Jeff Nelson in Celina OH.
He's done coupes and roadsters in the past and I believe he painted one of the auction cars for LCS in the past.
