Hey everyone. I see many posts about covers but are there any full car options that can be applied pretty soon after a ride that won't melt to the sidepipes? Or is a cockpit cover the only way? If I periodically drive to work, I don't want to have to wait for 30 minutes before applying the cover. Thanks for any input!

none that I know of, but do you really want to be THAT guy who puts a car cover on his car in the work parking lot?
I simply won't drive to work if there's anticipated rain the forecast.
I do have a full cover that I'll use in the winter months while the car is garaged and carry a snapless tonneau in my trunk in the event of unexpected rain.

In a word - No. You have to keep nearly everything off the pipes until they cool a bit.

IIRC, someone here sells heat proof fabric covers that slip over the side pipes to prevent leg burns.

Also, you can put the cover, but not pull it down all the way. I've done that many times.

What about a cockpit cover? That's my plan for days I don't anticipate rain during a work day.

Thanks guys. I get it and don’t want to be that guy. Ha. Live in SC and unfortunately it can rain without a cloud in the sky during the summer here. Just never know. Been emailing with Phillip about the snapless tonneau cover so likely going that way. Thanks.

I come back out after 20 - 30 minutes and put the cover on. Go in, drop my stuff , say hi , get my coffee, then duck back out for a few minutes. Its good to be the boss ;-)

I'd rather deal with a wet car than a soaking wet car cover. Past that reread egchewy's post #2.

My previous SPF cars had tonneaus, they worked well. Had tops too, big PITA.

I'd suggest one of the tonneaus for the FFR cars and call it good. The tonneau let people look at the car, it's a big part of the fun, and seemed to provide sufficient "boundary" for prying hands in the interior and the stuff inside.

Traveled cross country, parked in hotel lots, got real wet many times. It's all part of the allure...

Eventually, everybody and everything gets wet, everything dries, well, except for car covers.
