I'm in the process of building a Mark IV picked up in May 2021. I'm just starting with the body work and have a question about delamination issue that I'm not sure how to handle. I cut the hole for the hood scoop and realized I have an issue. 191697191698191699

In 2 of the pictures you can see the dark line on the remaining hood. That is a space between the top and bottom layers, and I can squeeze it with my fingers. In the other picture is the piece I cut out, it pulled apart easily only sticking together where the black magic marker is. (Rt side only.)

My question is what is the best way to fix this? Try to fill the voids with resin or with some sort of kitty hair? Should I think about trying to get another hood from FFR?

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your time.

DO NOT squeeze the two layers together. Allow them to remain relaxed and use 3M HSRF to fill approximately 3/4” inch or so in from the cutout, pushing it in kind of like packing a wheel bearing.

Jeff,
Thanks, I do that word for word. And, thanks for all your help, you have helped on many issues already, by me reading your posts and replies to other's issues. This forum and you have been a great help along the way especially for a non mechanic.

Thank you,
Doug S.

Jeff,
Your response and created another question. Now that I have bought a quart of 3M HSRF, can I use that to build up edges like I would use Evercote Fibertech?

Thank you

What edges are you referring to that need to be built up?

Just a general question, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to any of this, sorry for the might be dumb questions. That being said, I think I might have to build up the passenger door bottom just a little and raise the drivers side door where it meets the cowl of the body. Maybe a flaw or 2 where I trimmed the wheel wells and side vents.

Thank you for the help!
