now that my FPR is setup to the right pressure, I want to remove the gauge and button it back up with the NPT connector

what's the best way to relieve the fuel pressure in the line?

Pressure usually bleeds off pretty quick once the engine is shut off. If you give it over-night, you should be fine. A few paper towels under it while you unscrew the gauge won't hurt.

that was my initial guess, will give it time overnight - and hopefully avoid the 91 octane shower ;)

I use a blue paper shop towel or a yellow micro cloth. Have taken if off pretty much right after running the engine & not much comes out. Anyone know if the return line bleeds it?

Start the engine with the fuel pump unplugged.

I let it sit overnight, and maybe a soda bottle caps worth of gas came out, caught with a towel and all better now - thanks all!
