Folks,

I am going through my boxes as I get ready to receive my engine and install, and I am ensuring I have all the hardware on hand. Two items seem to be missing or not received. The first item are the bolts required for the engine mount to the engine. It is a SBF 302 based engine. What size, grade and length of bolt is needed here? I believe I need two per side.

The second bolt is to mount the driveshaft to the adapter plate. The bolt in the manual looks like a 12 point bolt. What size, grade and length of bolt is needed here? I believe there are four bolts. This driveshaft is mating to an IRS (2018) from FFR.

Thanks for the help in advance

the driveshaft bolts were in the same bag as the adapter bolts. Same size as well but maybe a bit shorter. As for the engine mounts they are 7/16-14 7/8 long. Anything from 3/4-1.0 should be fine.

Mike,

Thanks. I was able to to find the engine mount bolts with that information. They were in the fastener pack and now labeled and with the engine mounts. If they were not 12 point bolts for the driveshaft, I do have those on hand.

Regarding where the manual photos differ from the fastener pack, it didn't come with the 12 point bolts, just hex socket screws/bolts. I don't recall exactly the size but the manual should state the size/length.

Did you bolt the mounts to the block before engine install? I was wondering sequence. Will the long bolt on the engine mounts fit easily in the frame slots if the mount is already bolted to the engine?

Ralph. Bolt the mount to the engine first out of the car. Then drop it in. the studs will go in the holes no problem.

The mount bolts are plain jane so nearly any type will do the job. But the driveshaft bolts are very specific so make sure to get the correct ones.
