Hello everyone.

I've got maybe 1.5 miles under my Cobra. A few months ago I drove around the neighborhood making sure engine temps stayed nominal and all other vitals were good, then parked back in the garage for the hot months of Florida.

Now that things are cooling down a bit I'm working on getting the build back on the rails. The seat is still sitting on the aluminum and I put a small tool box behind it to keep from sliding back when I hit the clutch. I've read that I'm not supposed to fully mount the seat until the body is on, but that's months away and I wanna safely go-kart for a few more miles. At least somehow fix the seat down and use the lap belt just to be safe. Any tips in this regard? I don't want to put a few holes in the floor pan that won't be used in the future.

Thank you.

more of an issue between high back seats and body clearance, but you also want to check clearance for low backs, especially when it comes to the body and your outside arm. I temporarily put the body on, got it centered, and put my seat in place and marked the aluminum floor where the seat brackets would go. I used the Breeze brackets on my build and made the PS mirror the DS.

I just put the seat in and go. Moves around a bit, but so does everything else at this point in my build. Hopefully that improves.

Technically you are strapping to the frame so if the seat is in between as long as you are not doing anything stuipid you should be fine.

Check out GoDadGo's build log. He used boat cushions for seats for GoKart... Not an endorsement, but it worked for him! :D
