Hi everyone,

My Mk2 has a power steering rack from a 93 GT. The guy that built it looks to have put a power steering rack in the car, but its all manual steering, he just removed the transfer lines and the fittings are all open. So the car has 6 open fittings on the rack. I'm trying to find out the thread size and pitch so I can just plug them up and throw some grease into the rack instead of buying a whole manual rack since this one has been working fine since the car was built back in 2003.

I realize I should probably just buy a new manual rack, but I don't have the funds to do so right now and would rather just find the thread size for the all the fittings.

So, from what I can find thru online searching.. it looks like the main line fittings are:
5/8-18 and 9/16-18 I can find plugs for these pretty easy or even NPT to AN fittings for these.

And I think the transfer lines are 12mm x 1.75 thread size. Trying to confirm this sizing for sure and if a plug type fitting will work or if this would need some special type of fitting since its the transfer lines.

Is that correct?

I figure I can get a fitting that I can then screw in a grease fitting to allow me to pump it into the rack.

Nevermind, I figured this out and changed my direction as I found the transfer tubes separately and will just plug the ones that are easily known.

Plugging the hydraulic fittings may cause the rack to lock up. Caution is advised.
