I just recently picked up a FF cobra kit and I am in the process of organizing all of the items that came with the kit. A friend had suggested to store the body on the side of my home as I have a wall that would perfectly fit the fiberglass body and my shed would cover the body so you wouldn't see the fiberglass body from the street. I usually see most people store the fiberglass body inside the garage on a buck, but I haven't seen many people storing the fiberglass body on its side. Any recommendations would greatly be appreciated.

A couple of guys in my group stored them outside. The painter of my car Whitby Motorcars stores them outside till its their turn to get done.

Outside is fine, in fact that’s where Factory Five stores them.

As noted, outside is fine, but I would be hesitant to store it on its side.

I was considering storing my fenders, hood, running boards, etc. in my finished attic of my garage while I worked on the chassis, but my concern was heat deforming the fiberglass parts. After a call to F5 tech, they agreed it would not be wise to store them in a very hot environment due to possible distortion. While storing it outside should be no problem, storing a body on its side seems like it could deform a bit over time as well. I would not chance it. Do you have ceiling clearance in your garage to hang it? I finally figured out an arrangement where everything could be stored correctly. Boxes of steel parts went up in the attic, chassis in the main bay, body turned 90 degrees with some parts stored inside it, and other boxes stacked in the corners.

Could you hang it on that wall vertically. I think that if you put it nose up that could work out. Hanging it by the nose and dash area. Be aware that the body has a built-in hinge point right about where the door latches would be. You can see that if you pick it up from a normal position sitting on the rocker panels. Raise by the rocker panels and the whole trunk area will flop downward.

That is my main concern as well, and I was hoping someone had already stored the body on its side. I might have to do some more measuring and brainstorming to find a solution that is ok with the wife and not have the body in my way.

I don't think hanging the body vertically will work as my roof line does not go as high as 13' so I don't think it would fit.

I guess I missed that part....OUTSIDE is fine...ON IT'S SIDE is not!

I had a feeling but there are so many creative people on this forum, I figured someone else had figured out a way to do it. Ok back to the drawing board.
