Removing ignition key - wiring questions

Hi everyone,

I bought and wired in a Honda S2000 Push to Start button in my MK 1 and it works fine but only when I turn the ignition key to ACC or ON. If I leave the key in the off position the start button doesn't work because I was using 12+ volts from an open connection on the fuse panel to send power to the push to start button. If I use 12+ volts directly from the battery to power the start button most of the fuse box doesn't have power. So what I need to do is figure out how to wire the fuse panel so that its always hot so I can remove the key ignition completely.

I also have a battery cut off switch so technically the fuse panel won't be powered "all the time".

Just playing devil's advocate here -- wouldn't that mean that when you walk away from the car for, say, breakfast with the boys, that someone can just get in your car and drive away with no keys?

Well if they carried another battery flag that fits my switch and they find the hidden switch to put the key it, and then found the switch to turn on the fuel pump I suppose so:cool:

I used a remote battery isolation relay controlled by a key fob and removed the ignition switch. I have the Ron Frances harness so the details are different, but basically I routed the wires from the ignition switch terminals (battery and accessary) to a power distribution panel. They come together there so when the isolation relay is turned on the car is already in the accessory position. From the power distribution panel you need to wire up an ignition toggle and your starter button.
