I am a new builder ( actually completion date of 10-21. I have been trying to compile a listing of upgraded parts that many builders recommend to replace less robust Factory Five supplied parts. These are those parts that are easiest to install during the initial build. So far I have;
Coolant over flow tank (minimum capacity 1.5 quart)
Filler neck grommet F4-9072-Da
UPC dust cover 5.13102G
Any other part numbers or suggestions would be appreciated!

I almost hate to share this, but here's the parts list I worked with: https://cobradreams.com/original-list-of-parts-for-the-roadster/
Kit parts at the top, addons/upgrades toward the bottom... adds up very quickly!

Ford OEM fuel tank cap, and Ford OEM clutch cable. (The cap is Motorcraft FC-961, Ford XU5Z-9030-JA). I have the filler neck grommet/seal as Ford F4ZZ-9072-DA
I have a lot of Breeze parts. Battery forward box, SS roll bar, shrouds, radiator mounts, etc.
Here's my graduation thread, post #1 and #2 is a list of all the stuff I did. It looks as if someone went in and edited the Finish Line accessories with a bunch of asterisks. Some others have had major issues with Finish Line, I never did. I got everything I ever ordered from them. https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?30120-Pomp-and-Circumstance

Can you state what engine and trans you are using. Might help this list. Coyote builds will have a different list of recommendations, then a SBF build.

I always feel there are two layers to this question: 1) stuff that should be replaced because people have found the FFR provided part to just not be that good and prone to fail (e.g., fuel filler neck gasket, Clutch cable) and 2) stuff that people replace because they just want a higher quality part - but the FFR provided operates just fine.
That said, I just shivered thinking of all the stuff I've replaced.

Hi Brew City,
You hit the nail on the head. I am looking for Factory Five parts that fail quickly or over time. I am happy to use the FactoryFive parts if they are good enough. I don’t plan to track the car, just use on the street. Cost is the other issue I am way above my intended cost so nice to haves can wait.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond, Toadster,Boat 737,OB6,rthomas98

A Brake Pad Upgrades may be of interest to you if you plan on doing some auto crossing or attending open track days. On a serious note, consider adding Power Steering, Breeze Fan Shroud along with Breeze Seat & Radiator Mounts as they are nice items. Also, not having power steering doesn't bother me in the least today; however, I'm 60 years old and wonder if this will bug me as I age.
NOTE: The dumbest thing I added to my car was a Marine Stereo System with Blue-Tooth.
...........My car is so darn loud that we wear ear plugs 100% of the time.
...........The good news is the car has run 11:30 @ 124 MPH.

Try to outline your build as best as you can. I could've saved a ton in shipping from Summit/Jegs/Breeze by ordering multiple things at once. You also run the risk of having unused parts at the end if you pivot during the build.
Toadster, good for you for keeping such detailed records. And yes, it does add up very quickly. It seems like most parts you need end up costing $50-100. Make sure you move the decimal one spot over when showing your significant other the final amt :)

GoDadGo,
I did order power steering, at 71 I can tell you, you won’t want to wrestle with the steering wheel at low speeds. Not that you couldn’t 💪

If you get the fuel line quick disconnects in your kit, throw them in the trash. My engine Coyote Gen 1, crate, came with the hard lines on the engine. I connected the flex line to the Ford hard lines. Nothing like spraying gasoline on a running engine to wake you up. I bought Dorman replacements and feel comfortable, with no issues.
I have had no issues with the provided headlight switch, but the quality compared to OEM replacement is obvious.
Same feelings for the brake and clutch switches.
