Folks,

It has been a while since I have posted as I await my engine (which is now done from Forte) and I have been fiddling with different changes to the wiring as I get ready for an engine install. One item that I have gone back and forth is the push button start switch. I know of the different RFID systems, but I really just want to incorporate the bush button start switch and ditch the key. I will have a separate kill switch that will be mounted in the engine bay that will be locked.

Here is what I am thinking and let me know if I have made some bad assumptions or bad wiring mistakes.

As you can see from the picture, I am replicating several of the functions of the key switch through relays and switches.

The first switch brings RF Ignition power from the bus bar and the switch allows for ACC to be turned on without the ignition circuit. The split for ACC (Brown to RF Fuse Box) and Hot to Ignition leg (Red) - Second switch.

Flipping the ACC Switch On and the Ignition Switch is just like going to position II on the key switch. This leg adds a wire to go to Pin 86 Cooling Fan Relay (Pro Flo 4 - Single Fan). The other leg goes to a Relay that branches off to the RF Ignition Fuse Box (Orange) ands to the Push button switch (Pin 87).

The Pushbutton switch lights up when this circuit is energized (Pin 87) and the momentary switch goes to the RF starter solenoid (Lt Blue). --Tested this junction and works . Will test relay next

The Fan override is just a negative ground connection to pin 85 for Pro Flo 4. Validated with Edelbrock forum, I just need a diode for the Pro Flo output to relay and connect manual override to other side of diode.

The Hazard and courtesy lights are normal hookups and have been tested.

Please review and let me know if I have made some bad assumptions.

Thanks

Bill

OK though I did not get any feedback on my wiring concept, I can say that after today's check, the wiring I laid out did work and I was able to do voltage checks for the Ignition Branch, Isolation of the Key On to ACC and the relay to the Ignition Branch and Push Button start all worked as setup. Additionally I went with off the fan relay PIN 85 to a SPST ON/OFF/ON switch to allow either the ProFlo 4 to control the fan or override through the switch. No diode required. As soon as the next set of prototypes are available from IE 427, I will complete the turn signal, horn and high beam wiring connections. I did validate that those connections already work.

Thanks

Bill
