Hi Everyone!! Well as i continue with the bodywork, i am thinking ahead on taping the white stripes.
So i will be laying down the Wimbledon White first then taping before the Guardsman Blue is applied.
When taping the stripes, i have two questions.
How long should i wait after painting the white to apply the tape?
Also, What is the best tape to tape with on the white?

By the time you clean your gun and get ready for the layout you can tape on the base, let's say 45 minutes to an hour. Use a 1/4" vinyl tape such as 3M Fineline, FBS Proband or similar for the edges (and the outside chaser/pin stripe if you're doing that). Don't stretch it when laying it down, just hold enough very slight tension on it to keep it straight.

I fill the field with 2" wide Scotch 233+. I advise against using the blue painter's tape from the hardware store---those are often not solvent resistant and when you pull it you're liable to find that the adhesive has melted into the surface it was applied to.
