Finishing up the rear brake lines. My next step is remove rear rotors, paint the hat section, remove the shocks, and cleanup/paint the frame and upper and lower control arms. While the shocks are off I want to set the rear suspension, zero toe and zero camber

Question: I believe the FF roaster is setup for a 48/52 weight distribution. The Koni shocks have four adjustment positions; 1 being soft/4 being firm. Can anyone tell me what would be a good starting point on the shocks? Im thinking on setting the rear at 2 and the front on 3.
I want some firmness, not to fond of a soft/spongy ride.

Thanks,
Jeff

Adjustment is for rebound only. If you’re running the FFR factory spring rates set them full soft.

You can't set rear alignment with the car in the air. Besides, thrust angle causes you to go back and forth with both camber and toe in the rear. Eyeball it for now, it will be fine for pushing it around the shop.

Factory Five springs are more than "firm". As Jeff suggested, full soft on the rebound.

I believe there are some dimensions for the front UCA in the manual that will get you in the ballpark. For the rear you could set camber by eyeballing the tire being vertical using a carpenter's square or even cardboard box and eyeball toe. Car does need to be sitting on the tires for that to work.

Depending on which revision of the manual you're looking at the dimensions can be quite incorrect, in fact some have the two sides completely opposite. Here are my dimensions for the front UCA that will achieve roughly 7-8 degrees positive caster and .5-.75 degree negative camber.

The manual has some initial dimensions for the rear toe link and upper arm. Take a look at pages 91 and 92.

Thanks Jeff and Jeff. I saved both for reference.
