Just filled the tank for the first time. Slight fuel leak at the seal where the filler neck enters the tank. The next day it seems to have stopped leaking. Is it possible the rubber seal has swelled and sealed itself.
Anyone had a similar experience

Does the seal seem to be stressed in anyway?
Off center, angled, etc?

Yes, the neck does not go straight into the seal It is slightly below center

Can you adjust the filler neck to release the stress so that the tube is centered?

I think that is your culprit.

Is it the FFR-provided rubber seal? If so, those are known to tear and leak. Replace it with the genuine Ford part F4ZZ-9072-DA. Put a light film of oil on the new seal before installing the filler neck into it.

I didn't like the alignment of the filler tube from the cap to the tank. Either, or both, ends did not line up very well. I added a couple of inches to the tube on the horizontal section near the tank seal. The tube then aligned good with the tank, and the cap.

I also bought and installed the OEM Ford seal/grommet in the tank.

Realigned the filler tube. Like the previous reply said, the tube doesn’t align very well. This seems to have stoped the leak. Ordering the Ford OEM just to be safe
