I just got a 16 foot trailer for taking my Cobra to racetracks and things like the LCS (grrrr rain). Looking for some ideas for graphics and also some good sources for getting Shelby/Cobra/NASA/Racing inspired graphics for the sides and rear of the trailer.

John,
I guess your not going to tough it out again next year? I'm disappointed but understand. Hopefully I can get Ray and Tak to drive again. I am registered. See you on the 14th.

I would love to drive it... but the amount of water damage and straight up dangerous situations I was in was just too extreme. Also, with the truck/trailer both my son's and wife can come.

I'm still fixing water damage with the Cobra. The latest is the heater control push/pull nob obviously got a lot of water in it and it started to rust. Have to replace that now. That's after replacing my fuse box and most of my fuses. Pulling the entire interior out of the car twice (once for LCS and again after Lake George). My carpet is a mess now and needs to be re-glued but now it's' in rough shape and I should just replace it. I know it's a challenge car and was rough to begin with but holy heck I was trying to make the car nicer and the rain really did a number on it. Some normal rain would be one thing... these torrential downpours on R888R's.... That's not something I will repeat..

That all said... if the weather is nice my wife is willing to drive the truck/trailer and I'd be happy to go on a gas burning frenzy and drive the Cobra!

Consider that another school of thought is to leave the trailer unadorned so as not to advertise what's inside. I have two friends who have had trucks, trailer and race cars stolen from hotel parking lots in the past 5 or 6 years. Both trailers were marked up and lettered making it clear what they contained. Coincidence? One was during drag week so the thieves would have at least had an idea of what they would have been getting even if the trailer had been unmarked but the other was just during an overnight layover, not at an event. Nothing was ever found of the drag week theft; the other one the truck and trailer were recovered but the race car has never turned up.

Just something you might want to think about, but congrats on the new trailer!

I agree with Jeff on leaving the trailer unadorned. I went to bike week in Florida one year with four other friends and we had all five of our bikes in a trailer with Harley colors and logos on the trailer, only to come out of the hotel in the morning and find the entire rig gone and never found. Everybody loves to show off their stuff, but it's a neon sign for the thieves that says come and get me. Plain Jane is the way to go, or at least put a gps tracker in the trailer and the car. That wasn't available in the 90's.

If you want to make sure no one steals your trailer, you might put something like "A-1 septic service. Your #2 is our #1". I am not the author of that. Make the trailer a deterrent rather than a target.

septic service trailer might still have valuable equipment in the back. how about a skunk relocation service?

How about going in a totally different direction?
I do a lot of property inspection field work in less than desirable areas.
I've got a couple of magnetic signs that I stick on my doors of my plane jane white truck so that I can hide in plain sight.

One sign states:....Energy Response Unit
The other states:...Sewage Inspector

These signs really help me out when I'm places where I need to be, but don't want to be.
Maybe you can create some signage that is designed to specifically repel attention.
How about a Hazardous Material Signage or something like that.

The Heyoka (Heyókȟa, also spelled "Haokah," "Heyokha") is a kind of sacred clown in the culture of the Sioux (Lakota and Dakota people) of the Great Plains of North America. The Heyoka is a contrarian, jester, and satirist, who speaks, moves and reacts in an opposite fashion to the people around them.

I covered mine with hundreds of stickers from a left over Boeing 747-400 exterior graphics package. Exits, No steps, grounds, power receptacles, etc. Literally hundreds of them. Probably shouldn't have put on the "TIRE PRESSURE 203 PSI" stickers on though. It freaks the guys at Discount Tire out.

Almost nobody has a clue what all those stickers mean, but the few who do are fellow heavy aviation guys, so a great conversation starter.

How about:

Theft deterrent.

If you do decorate it Put something large on the roof , That way if it is stolen Police can see it from the air , Ed

I conceded to just leaving it plain. :-)
