Hello everyone,
I've had to add coolant to my reservoir a few times over the first 2500 miles and I see no leaks regarding the cooling system. I have a Ford Racing 302, and the coolant reservoir that comes with the kit. Is it likely that it's simply expanding beyond the limits of the reservoir and that is the source of my loss? Is this something that happens with this reservoir seeing how it's on the smaller side?

Quite a few people have discovered that the FFR reservoir is too small. I prefer a minimum of 1.5 qt. And I like it either translucent or w/ a sight tube so it is easy to see the level.

I also had to fill my overflow a few times. I wasn't able to see a clear coolant loss from my overflow tank, but did find a small leak at the heater hose outlet on the intake. I assumed that it was getting boiled off on the intake and that's why there is no visible leak/drip. I also got a larger tank on amazon, but wasn't able to get that clear sight tube to seal, so just plugged the bungs off w/ a large bolt.

The FFR provided tank is marginal at best with a very narrow window for the sweet spot. Only a couple of ounces makes the difference between not enough (coolant won't cycle between the tank and system) and too much (coolant pukes). I always replace them with a similar looking but larger 56 ounce unit from Jegs which is much more forgiving about a workable level.

I went with the Canton 2 QT which has been doing the job without any problems.
